Family Session with the Aguilar Family | Abiquiú, NM



There’s something special about witnessing a family that carries love, strength, and togetherness in every glance and smile. That was exactly the case with Lorenzo and Merlinda Aguilar’s beautiful session in Abiquiú, New Mexico.


Lorenzo, the current sheriff of Rio Arriba County, brought his family out for portraits surrounded by the golden landscape and iconic mesas of the area. But as breathtaking as the backdrop was, it was their connection that truly stood out. The way Lorenzo held his youngest on his shoulders, the way Merlinda looked at him with warmth, and how their two daughters shared gentle smiles—it all told a quiet, powerful story of a family grounded in love and respect.


Their laughter, subtle exchanges, and natural ease made the entire afternoon feel effortless. Even the desert wind seemed to calm for a while as they enjoyed this time together. It was an honor to document this season of their life—full of love, leadership, and legacy.
