Golden Afternoon Senior Session in Abiquiu, New Mexico – Ashley’s Senior Portraits


On April 22, 2025, I had the joy of photographing Ashley’s senior session in Abiquiu, New Mexico. The warm golden afternoon light painted the landscape in soft, dreamy tones—the perfect backdrop for celebrating this milestone.


Our session began outside her aunt’s antique shop in Abiquiu, where rustic textures and weathered charm added character to her portraits. From there, we ventured into the wide-open fields just beyond town. The sky stretched endlessly above us, and the soft desert grasses caught the light in the most magical way.


Ashley brought such grace and calm to her session. Her natural style—a mix of casual confidence and gentle elegance—shined in every frame. Whether leaning against a weathered fence, sitting quietly among the desert grasses, or laughing as the sun dipped behind the hills, Ashley carried herself with quiet strength and joy.


Why Abiquiu is a Perfect Senior Session Location


Abiquiu is one of my favorite places to photograph seniors because of its timeless desert beauty. The soft sagebrush, golden light, and wide skies create a natural backdrop that allows each graduate’s personality to shine through. For Ashley, this landscape perfectly reflected her grounded spirit and easygoing personality.
